The Foundation Calcutta Project Basel is mainly run by students of Basel University. All members of the foundation work as volunteers.

The Foundation Board (FB) is the highest authority. It is composed by former members of Calcutta Project Basel and of other persons from renowned professions and institutions. The FB provides technical support and guarantees that in spite of regular member fluctuation the goals of the Foundation are not lost from view.

The Executive Board (EB) is composed of representatives of all Departments and coordinates current business affairs of the Foundation and communication with the partner organization. 20 to 25 active members are working in the various Departments.

The Finance Department (FD) is handling all financial administration. Usually this position is held by a person with a background in economics.

The department Public Relations (PR) is responsible for fundraising. They are creative and committed and are busy organizing events and various activities, visualizing the internet pages, writing applications and info letters and handling administrative tasks in the Foundation’s everyday life.

The Medical Committee is responsible for monitoring the programmes and projects we support. Also, we aim to have a lively technical exchange with the partner organization. The monitoring uses standards of today’s international development coordination and calls for intensive communication with the partner organization.

Internal training and member management are provided by the Department Training. They take care of contacts to our network of different institutions and specialists, organize internal events and coordinate training.
